The client was looking to increase the capacity of its office space from 80 desks, to accommodate over 100 employees as well as provide a number of meeting areas and flexible work spaces.
By standardising the desks and reducing the desk sizes to reflect the space requirements of each employee, Thistle was not only able to increase the number of desks from 80 to 114, it was also able to create 4 private meeting areas (to provide formal working areas with desks and AV and presentation equipment), 4 Collaborative Working Cubes and 2 Informal Social Cubes.
To maximise the capacity of the area and create a more agile workspace, Thistle also provided hotdesking lockers to allow a clean desk policy to be implemented and therefore maximise desk utilisation.
Thistle’s Collaborative Working Cubes are designed to enable short, stand up meetings with floor to ceiling whiteboard walls, and AV technology to allow collaborative working within project teams. The open plan nature also allows managers to oversee developments without being directly involved.
Thistle’s Informal Social Cubes provide a dedicated area for coffee breaks, lunch or a more informal meeting space – a unique addition to any office environment
