Thistle Systems have designed and installed its Maxi Cube push back racking to transform the operations of a loading bay for a major Glasgow based automotive supplier.

The company had previously been martialling pallets ready for loading on to the wagons by placing the 26 pallets on the floor at the relevant docking bay.

However, they were looking to maximise capacity in the warehouse with VNA racking and reduce the floor space requirements for loading.

Thistle designed and installed two blocks of push back racking which could accommodate a maximum of 260 pallets.

Their unique pallet racking system can store up to five Euro pallets deep or four CHEP pallets deep to provide the client with total flexibility.

And as the next pallet is automatically presented ready for picking within the warehouse, the loading process was also dramatically improved as fork lift trucks could access the relevant pallets, no matter what load was required.
