The growth in demand for their market leading products had seen their existing sample store reach full capacity and the client was looking to maximise the storage capacity of the available area.

Whilst the main sample store was currently using the traditional static shelving, Thistle Systems designed a high density solution which featured over 72 linear metres of shelving capable of storing almost 2500 of the 500ml sample bottles in just 6.4 square metres.

Thistle Systems’ Specialist Whisky Solutions Project Manager, Alan Scott, explained, “By applying our Max the Cube principles to the sample store, we were able to exceed the client’s expectations of the storage capacity which could be achieved, whilst delivering a highly effective and efficient solution.”

He continued, “Sample stores are not busy environments and therefore don’t require the 100% accessibility to all bottles which is provided by a static shelving solution. Instead, our high density, heavy duty shelving solution transforms the space utilisation of the area, enabling significantly more capacity to be delivered in any given area.”

The Maxi Cube High Density Sample Store solution can often more than double the storage capacity of standard shelving, whilst providing the flexibility to customise shelving heights to accommodate different sizes of containers.
