Mobile Racking Increases Cold Store Capacity in Dumfries & Galloway

Thistle’s design excellence and overall management support enabled the company to win the project via competitive tender, which involved 3 different pallet types and the brief to maximise storage capacity of finished products with set requirements for raw materials and tubs.

Thistle’s solution achieved the specified pallet positions for the raw materials and tubs, however through careful design and the use of different beam types to suit the relevant pallet types, they were able to deliver an impressive 945 pallet positions of finished goods.

And as with any mobile racking system, health and safety was a key design feature with safety light beams across all entrances which automatically shut off the system as soon as the beam is broken. The industrial racking system also featured a reset button within the pallet aisle which forces the user to enter the area and check that the aisle is clear before the system is re-started.
