Thistle Systems has enabled an international logistics company to maximise capacity in their new purpose built warehouse with its Maxi Cube Very Narrow Aisle racking solution to deliver 1827 pallet positions.
The logistics giant provides its client base with complete supply chain management, warehouse and freight logistics solutions from their distribution hubs across the UK.
With each of the sites delivering complete solutions to a number of clients within the same facility, 100% accessibility was a key requirement whilst maximising capacity and space utilisation.
Thistle Systems’ designed and installed a Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) Pallet Racking solution which provided 16 runs of racking, each with 5 pallets high and 24 pallets wide.
The solution was designed to work in conjunction with their new man-up forklift truck, minimising the required aisle width to maximise capacity and deliver the required 1827 pallet positions in just 7534 sq ft.
The client used wire guiding to assist the forklift truck operator, enabling them to increase picking speed and minimising damage to the racking uprights. Thistle also installed heavy duty barriers to protect the end sections.
