Thistle Systems, one of the UK’s leading integrators of automated storage solutions, has commenced its latest warehouse automation project to deliver a fully automated pallet warehouse for Mega Fortris at its new £9.5 million UK headquarters in Birmingham.

The project will create a state-of-the-art automated warehouse capable of storing more than 2,000 pallets, designed to handle the complexity of Mega Fortris’ growing operations with an expected throughput of 100 pallets in and 100 pallets out every day.

To achieve this, Thistle Systems has designed and engineered an innovative Autocube solution featuring two vertical lifts, four runways and three smart carriers – all powered by Thistle’s proprietary MAXIQ software and managed by its in-house team of UK-based designers, engineers and software developers. This unique, software-led approach ensures seamless integration, maximum performance, and long-term reliability.

McKenzie Cairns, Director of Thistle Systems, commented:
“Our focus is always on designing solutions that combine proven technology with intelligent software to deliver outstanding performance and reliability. Working with Mega Fortris on this landmark project demonstrates not only the strength of our technical expertise but also the trust that global manufacturers are placing in Thistle Systems to deliver mission-critical automation.”

As the UK partner of Logiqs – the original inventors of the 4-way shuttle technology and manufacturer of the advanced Autocube® smart carriers – Thistle Systems combines world-class innovation with the reassurance of local, UK-based support. This combination of technology leadership, design expertise, and ongoing service was a key driver in Mega Fortris selecting Thistle Systems for the project.

Mega Fortris, a global leader in tamper-evident security seals and packaging solutions, recently invested £9.5 million in their new Birmingham headquarters, marking a new era for its UK operations. The automated warehouse will play a pivotal role in supporting their continued growth and commitment to operational excellence.
