Thistle Systems has demonstrated how their Max the Cube approach can transform archive storage by enabling a major manufacturer to achieve a 65% increase in capacity in its existing archive storage.
The client had been using a variety of systems to store their archive records across several rooms, however they had reached capacity and had started storing boxes on any available space on the floor. Working closely with the project team, Thistle discussed a number of alternatives including a mobile shelving solution, however, the best alternative was to maximise the capacity of heavy duty archive shelving.
Using their Max the Cube approach, Thistle delivered a solution which maximised capacity by optimising the space utilisation. Thistle designing the shelving solution to suit the archive boxes using 400mm deep shelving to fit with the 350mm deep boxes.
Thistle were able to salvage some of the existing shelving and then used a combination of 1000mm and 1300mm of its Maxi Cube Heavy Duty shelving to utilise every inch of space in the rooms, whilst avoiding dead space. The end result was a solution which delivered 495 linear metres of storage to add an additional 65% capacity in the same footprint.
