Thistle Systems’ Industrial Mobile Shelving Systems and its Max the Cube approach has enabled the Engineering Manager at one of Scotland’s leading food and drinks manufacturers to transform the capacity and efficiency of his operations.
With components and supplies stored in various locations across the facility, the Engineering Manager was looking for a solution which would bring all products into a centralised area to improve management and accessibility.
However, with a range of products needing to be stored, from larger spare parts for machines to screws and fixings, Thistle Systems’ challenge was to design a solution which stored all components in the most effective way.
The final mobile shelving systems solution delivered 855 linear metres of storage plus 30 high density drawers in just 64 square metres of floor space.
Thistle’s solution used 5 different shelving profiles and 3 depths of shelving to maximise the storage capacity and space utilisation by minimising the amount of dead space which can occur with a standard system.
Thistle also used its expertise in space utilisation to incorporate high density drawers into the mobile shelving system with small parts storage containers – not only did these dramatically increase the capacity per square foot but they also transformed the accessibility of these key critical components.
Thistle also incorporated custom designed enclosures and dividers on key shelves within the system to improve space utilisation as well as lockable security doors to protect high value components.
